The Healthy Shopper offers e-coupons for a range of natural and organic products. The coupons are free, but do require sign-up to access. Alternately you can order an actual coupon book - the book is free but you pay $4.50 CDN for shipping. If it’s for something I was going to buy anyway, I always think coupons are good.

Santa Cruz Organic - they make organic juices, fruit sauces, nut butters, dessert toppings and “natural” sodas - is offering coupons on its various products to US residents. The coupons on offer change monthly, so you’ll want to bookmark the page and check back for more deals.

The CrayolaStore.com carries the full range of Crayola products; a lot of the art and school supplies are Crayola specialty items or in large sizes that can be hard to find elsewhere. There’s even a create your own custom box of crayons
offer. They ship out to the US and Canada.

I’m not much into consumerism, so it was nice to come across this low-cost idea for a gift for a baby - a hand-decorated onesie.

With a little fabric paint and maybe crochet hook and thread Umm Nour created personalized, special little somethings for friends’ babies.

You can get as simple or fancy as you want.

For fancier ideas, I came across these appliqued versions.  If the results are good you may even be able to make a little money by selling them on Etsy (an online marketplace for handmade items).

If you aren’t up for crafting, maybe you can support another Muslim.

Meccacentric.com, which sells audio and video of lectures by prominent Muslim scholars such as Hamza Yusuf, Siraj Wahaj, Abdullah Hakim Quick and others, has decided to stop offering audio tapes.

So, they’ve put all of the audio tapes on 50% off clearance. There are a number of interesting titles available (a bunch of stuff on Muslim families and youth, for instance), but since they are discontinuing the line, once something is gone (in audio tape) it’s gone.

There are a ton of titles, on all sorts of topics from a Muslim perspective (there are a large number of titles devoted to youth, family issues and marriage).

Stonyfield Farm, an organic dairy company, is offering e-coupons for a number of it’s products (organic milk, various kinds of yoghurts, smoothies, and frozen desserts). From what I’ve seen, their products don’t contain gelatin (or stabilizers and preservatives), an ingredient that renders a lot of yoghurt products off limits for those of us concerned with buying halal.

The coupons are for US residents only. They rotate the coupons on offer, so they may or may not be for a product you use.

Organic Valley, another organic dairy company, has also made e-coupons available (on soy milk, cheese, cottage cheese, regular cow’s milk, lactose-free milk, butter, etc.) to US residents.

I try to only buy organic when we do buy dairy, because unfortunately milk cows are so fiddled with by non-organic producers (bovine growth hormone, antibiotics, dubious feeds…) and often nasty chemicals are concentrated in animal products and in fat sources, such as butter.

Yogi Tea is offering up free sample packs of their teas to US residents. You can choose between spiced teas and two other packs of herbal teas intended to enhance wellness.

Stay-at-home, homeschooling Dad, Bob Harte got frustrated with the amount of time his son was spending on the computer.

So, he hired a programmer to create software that would time his son’s use of the computer and log him off automatically once he had reached his limit.

The software, which works on computers running Windows XP is available for free download.

It’s linked to from the website community, AmigoMaker, that Harte runs for hunters and fishermen.

I have not used the software and don’t know Mr. Harte personally, so I cannot vouch for the quality of the software.
